Justice Vigil earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from NMSU in 1981 and a JD from the UNM School of Law in 1985.
Justice Vigil served as a district court judge for about 12 years, including 10 years as a Children's court judge. Prior to being elected as a district court Judge, Justice Vigil had her own practice.
She was an assistant attorney general from 1989-1990 and a litigation Attorney in the N.M. Risk Management Division from 1990 to 1992.
